3D Scanning

Allnorth provides 3D laser scanning services using Leica C10 and ScanStation2 3D laser scanners. Laser Scanning is used to capture existing conditions data. The Laser Scanner produces three-dimensional point clouds that can be processes to create 3D Solid Models.

The data collected during a scan can be imported into CAD software packages such as AutoCAD for further processing. Typical actions include the creation of as-builts, volume and/or area calculations, topographical & detail surveys, fabrication & construction inspection, conceptual design & interference checking, and quantity surveys. The data collected provides a complete 3D representation of the area scanned. Laser scanning has minimal field exposure with lasting unprecedented data.

We own our system and maintain a highly experienced and certified crew. Our scanning and modeling operators have been fully trained by the equipment manufacturers and software providers to ensure accurate and precise data collection and modeling expertise. Our designers employ the scanner directly, ensuring the necessary data is captured for quality design.

Data collected by 3D laser scanning can be imported into CAD software packages for further processing.  Field data can be collected from operating equipment, areas that are unsafe or difficult to access, or where conventional field measurement is not possible.  3D laser scanning minimizes field time in collecting data.
